
Jamal Bransford
Jamal Bransford is a devoted husband and father, currently working as an educator teaching broadcast journalism at Hamady High School. He holds a Master’s in Journalism Education from Kent State University and a Bachelor of Science in Communications from Purdue University Global. A 2-time Emmy Award-winning Photojournalist and Edward R. Murrow Award recipient, Jamal brings over 20 years of experience in broadcast news, having worked at WEYI NBC 25, WJRT ABC 12, and WDIV TV 4 in Detroit. He previously served as the Public Relations and Marketing Coordinator for Westwood Heights Schools.
An entrepreneur since 2008, he is the founder of Naavah Media and the creator of the B-Roll Matters Media Camp, a youth program that introduces young people to the world of media and storytelling. Jamal has earned 13 Emmy nominations and multiple honors from the Michigan Association of Broadcasters, including Photojournalist of the Year. He serves as Board Treasurer for the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Michigan chapter is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
