My name is Michelle Cardillo. After many years attending college and working in professional settings in Downtown Flint, I set out on my own to build a business based in Flint, MI. Focused on changing the conversation about Flint, I’ve been immersed in the progress made Downtown, a wonderful place to build community and commerce. Since 2015 I have been working through my passion and building a vision for curating and repurposing hand-picked vintage as a small business owner in the Flint community. Navigating motherhood with three young boys, I’ve noticed and experienced some of the gaps in our community and social services during a time of heightened need. A need for compassion, a listening ear, solid advice, a safety net. Too often, cries for help go unheard or there are too many barriers to success, despite best efforts.
My business idea, It Takes A Village Genesee County is a big task… It’s meant to fill that gap in community services and to solve societal issues by building a vintage retail experience designed to build up the community. I propose an environment designed to give back and support… right now. Any time. For anyone
